Together we can Save Baby Liam!

Baby Liam being curious

Our family got an amazing gift, my first grandchild, Liam. There were only minor birth complications but after a week both mother and Mr Adorable came home with a clean bill of health.

At 10 weeks old Liam started having difficulty feeding and an intermittent fever. After a doctor’s visit he got better, but a week later his fever was back, he developed lesions and the scariest, Liam started having seizures. Over the next few weeks Liam was in and out of hospital as the seizures and intermittent fever persisted.

After Liam and his parents (Amelia and William) had many tests done, Liam was diagnosed with Aicardi-Goutières syndrome (AGS). It is a rare genetic disorder that affects the spinal cord, brain and immune system. There is no known cure for AGS, so Liam has to have treatment to manage the AGS and bring him comfort.

Amelia is a kindergarten teacher but she will lose her job because she is choosing to stay with Liam. William lost his job when the company he worked for closed due to the pandemic at the end of 2020. He has since been working as an independent craftsman which unfortunately doesn’t have medical coverage.

Liam’s treatment will be long and expensive. Every little bit counts and any donation will be greatly appreciated.
